A New Poolboy

Looking impressive there, jock.

“Thanks, Coach, I just wish I had time to play more. What brings you to the park today?”

Well, one of My buddies is looking for a new poolboy… and I think I just found him.

“I’m flattered, Coach, but most days I’m already working an internship that might help me land a job after college.”

Is that so, jock? Do you like it?

“I guess so, Coach, though they are working me pretty hard.”

You could have a much more relaxed schedule that lets you come out here much more often.

“I mean it’s hard work now, but someday it’ll be worth it, right? And wouldn’t I have to do work as a poolboy too?”

There will be plenty of times when My buddy is working his own job, and your duties won’t take that long. And working out is part of what will be expected of you in your free time, and this is some great cardio out here the way you play.

“What industry is he in? Maybe it would be worth checking out if it helps me make connections, Coach.”

Well, I want you to think right about this for a moment. Is such a career where you are left working long hours and stressing right out really how you want to be left spending the rest of your life? Or would you rather be left being able to enjoy the simple pleasures you crave deep down, such as time spent right outdoors playing frisbee or anything else you are left loving to do. And deep down, you know this would not have to be left permanent but you could be left how you are left enjoying it for a summer, all you have to do is let me train you right for the position that I think you already are beginning to desire deep down.

“Yes, Coach. A session with you would be good.”

The Applicant

Having grown up loving the outdoors and being quite knowledgeable about camping in the woods, Keith was excited about a job ad he had seen for a campground instructor and trainer. When his application received a response stating that all applicants must familiarize themselves with the company via training videos, he had no idea that he was the one beginning to undergo training. Though he could always remember the beginning of the training video, he always felt as if he zoned out by the end of it – leading him to watch the orientation video over and over. Though his mind continued to feel a bit hazy on the details of the video, he did start to feel more and more as if he was the perfect fit for the position, completely unaware of the subtle changes that were making him the perfect candidate for the position. Still, he reached out again to follow-up on his application. “Programming Complete. Ready for Stage Two.” An interview was promptly set up, and he arrived wearing jeans and a tank.

Welcome. I see you dressed up in work-appropriate attire.

By other standards, it wouldn’t have been, but the subliminal programming had encouraged jeans, boots, and a series of tanks that he had not remembered ordering. It did not entirely matter, as soon Keith was feeling compelled to strip off his clothing. That’s it, Keith. You’ve already stripped away so much resistance watching the training videos, and now you are going to strip away all your remaining inhibitions as you begin to fully strip down.

“Of course, Boss. I’ll dress and undress as required for the job.” Keith’s easy compliance showed the programming at work, and soon he would be relaxing on an outdoor sofa ready to complete and finalize the programming for his new position.
